Rancho Sienna wins “Best Design” award from Home Builders Association of Greater Austin

Sienna Trail Park in Rancho Sienna
Judges noted a number of sustainable development processes at Rancho Sienna, including an approximate 10,000-gallon cistern used to harvest rainwater and irrigate the community’s drought-tolerant native landscaping. Native stone and cedar were saved and reused in the design and construction of the community’s new dog park, opening this summer. Rancho Sienna also worked closely with its homebuilders to develop architecture inspired by the Texas Hill Country.

Opened in 2014, Rancho Sienna is located along Ronald Reagan Boulevard near S.H. 29, in the Liberty Hill Independent School District.
The community design also includes a site for LHISD’s proposed Rancho Sienna Elementary School, which will open in August 2017 if district voters approve a bond election on May 7.
Rancho Sienna was also a MAX Awards finalist in the “Best Unique Feature” category for its Outdoor Dining Room park.

The Outdoor Dining Room
This was the second major award won by Rancho Sienna so far in 2016. In February, it won the “Community of the Year” award from the Austin Business Journal.
Both of these awards continue a years-long winning streak for Newland in Austin. Other Newland communities including Falcon Pointe, Sweetwater and Teravista have also won these HBA and ABJ awards in recent years. Nationally, Green Home Building Magazine honored Newland as its “Developer of the Year” for 2016.
