Before giving the post-holiday blues any chance to settle in, check out these fun local activities for residents of all ages. From Weekend Canyon Tours at Westcave, to the final weeks of a major exhibit at the LBJ Presidential Library, there’s something for every member of the family.
25 Years/25 Treasures: A Celebration of UT Austin's Briscoe Center for American History – Explore historic documents by U.S. presidents including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, along with Texas artifcts. Through Jan. 16 at the LBJ Presidential Library.
Weekend Canyon Tours – Take expert-guided tours ending with a view of a stunning 40-foot waterfall at Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center.
Tuesday Yappy Hours – Every Tuesday in January from 12-6, get a free hour when you bring your dog to Rowing Dock for water fun with kayaks, canoes, water bikes and more.
Cedar Park Sculpture Garden – See 12 new sculptures by Texas artists at this outdoor exhibit, located next to the Cedar Park Recreation Center.
Sun City Farmer’s Market – Every Tuesday in January, from 9-12, find locally grown produce plus free range eggs, pasture raised beef and much more.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid – See this musical version of Disney’s beloved story through Jan. 15 at the historic Georgetown Palace Theatre.
Quilting Demonstration – See demonstrations of the art and craft of quilting every Thursday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. in Downtown Georgetown.
