Award-winning Rancho Sienna artist shows painting at The Sienna House

The Sienna House is more than a place where neighbors come together for fun events and activities throughout the year, and where home shoppers can find community information.

It’s also a place where you can see original paintings created by Hill Country artists, including an award-winning artist who lives right in the community.

The Sienna House is now showing a painting by Rancho Sienna resident Jennifer Polnaszek, who recently won the first place award in the 2D Representational category of the Georgetown Art Hop, a statewide arts competition now in its ninth year.

Her award-winning painting, “Tween,” is a large oil painting that also won “best in show” at a recent exhibition at Texas State University in Round Rock.

“My art is inspired by everyday life experiences. I especially strive to convey the emotions of the subject, to elicit an emotional response from the viewer,” Polnaszek said.

She came to Texas from rural Wisconsin, where she worked as a physician assistant and registered nurse.

“Moving to my new home at Rancho Sienna three years ago has provided me with all the opportunities of a richly diverse art community, while living in a beautiful country setting,” she said.

Paintings by Austin artist Helen Faythe Green are also on display at The Sienna House.

All of the paintings are available for sale.
