LHHS Culinary Arts Program earns praise as model program for industry
In less than seven years, the Culinary Arts Program at Liberty Hill High School has established itself as a model for the industry, according to a glowing profile of this popular program in the Liberty Hill Independent.
Written by Dana Delgado, the profile traces program’s growth since 2011 into a professional-level program where students learn in a state-of-the-art, fully equipped commercial kitchen. Students have many opportunities to learn in real-life situations, as the program caters meals for Liberty Hill Chamber of Commerce meetings, ULI events and other occasions.
It has evolved into a promising career pathway, with students able to earn industry certifications and credit from Austin Community College. Many have gone on to study at prestigious culinary schools such as the Culinary Institute of America and Le Cordon Bleu.
