Fun times are brewing all around Rancho Sienna

There’s something about the Texas Hill Country that makes you want to grab a beer or glass of wine and just relax.

Maybe that’s why there’s such a growing number of homegrown breweries and wineries near Rancho Sienna that combine craft libations, good food and fun times.

Four-legged friends are welcome at most, and most offer tours and private event rentals.

Here are our top picks for craft breweries near Rancho Sienna.

Rentsch Brewery – This Georgetown brewery was founded by father and son David and Andrew Rentschier, who were inspired by the quality and sociable atmosphere of Germany’s biergartens. Brews include Old World German and New World American styles. Enjoy food trucks, live music and games at the family friendly tap room.

Thirsty Mule Winery & Vineyard – This Liberty Hill favorite is billed as the only underground wine tasting bar and winery in Texas, with its wine cave built into a hillside and sitting four feet underground. Meat and cheese trays and other snacks are offered, and a quarterly Wine Club is available.

Bluebonnet Beer Co. – This Round Rock brewery serves Cream, Pecan Brown, Amber, IPA and other popular varieties, and there’s often a food truck parked outside.

Dog House Drinkery – Named one of Austin’s 10 most dog-friendly hangouts, Dog House is a bar built inside of a 2.5-acre dog park in Leander. Events include yappy hours, adoptions and birthday parties. Crafted from historic wood and reclaimed lumber, the bar offers beer, wine, darts, NFL games and more.
