Primrose Day Care at Rancho Sienna Projected to Open Spring 2018

With the opening of Liberty Hill ISD’s Rancho Sienna Elementary School coming up in August, a second school has been announced for Rancho Sienna.

Primrose School at Rancho Sienna is expected to begin construction of its new 12,500-square-foot school this year, with an opening planned for spring 2018.

The new school is located at Via de Sienna Boulevard and Magona Trail, directly across the street from Rancho Sienna Elementary.

The onsite Primrose day care is projected to be open by spring of 2018.

Designed to accommodate up to 204 children, Primrose School at Rancho Sienna is owned by Georgetown resident Joe Palma and his daughter, Tina Folts, who lives in Rancho Sienna.

Primrose School at Rancho Sienna will enroll children ranging from infants to kindergarten age. It will offer after-school programs for children ages 5-12, with bus pick-up at select elementary schools in the area. Summer camp programs will also be offered.

The school will have 11 classrooms and will employ approximately 35 teachers, staff members and administrators.

“Opening this new school in Rancho Sienna will allow us to expand in Georgetown, an area we have grown to love and are proud to call home,” said Tina, who has more than 10 years of experience teaching children in schools throughout the greater Austin area.

“Our goals are to offer premier child care and a rewarding work environment. We also plan to give back to our community through local nonprofit groups that benefit children right here in Williamson County,” said Joe.

The father-and-daughter team first discovered Primrose Schools when Tina was researching daycare options for her own daughter.

“After we saw the innovative methods that Primrose had developed, we were immediately impressed. They were unlike anything we had ever seen before in the daycare and education field,” Tina said.

After decades of working in corporate America, including years as a planner at Freescale Semiconductor in Austin, Joe decided to begin a new career offering Georgetown parents a premium childcare option.

Tina closed her home daycare to join her dad in the venture, and together they opened Primrose School of Georgetown in 2013.

“We welcome everyone to tour our school in Georgetown, and to know that we are very excited to soon be a part of Rancho Sienna,” Joe said. “We are very much looking forward to partnering with Liberty Hill Elementary School and Newland, to offer residents and  neighbors a new childcare option right in the heart of the community.”

Founded in 1982, Primrose School has grown to more than 300 schools throughout the United States. In 1998, it became the first early childhood education organization to earn national accreditation from AdvancED, a 100-year-old non-profit that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of pre-K-12 schools and school systems.

The company’s nonprofit arm, Primrose Children’s Foundation, has donated more than $2.4 million to national charities such as Save the Children, Reach Out and Read and Children’s Miracle Network.
