Meet Melanie Bowman, the new principal of Rancho Sienna Elementary School
Melanie Bowman, the new principal of Rancho Sienna Elementary School, is already a well-known and well-liked educator in the Liberty Hill Independent School District, having served as principal of Liberty Hill Elementary School for the past two years.
Since graduating from Texas State University (then Southwest Texas State University), she has gained nearly 20 years of experience in teaching and administration, all of it at the elementary level.
Before joining Liberty Hill ISD, Melanie was an administrator at Round Rock ISD for five years, and she spent 15 years in the classroom before that.
A Texas native, Melanie was born in Orange Grove, near Corpus Christi. After graduating from college, she taught in two school districts in the Houston region, before her husband’s career as a property manager brought the family to Round Rock.
Both of Melanie’s children finished their educations in Round Rock ISD. Her son, Scott, is now married and living in Austin. Her daughter, Emily, is finishing up at Texas Women’s University in Denton.
Now a Central Texan at heart, Melanie recently moved to Burnet to enjoy the country atmosphere.
What Melanie loves most is to talk about the many innovative features designed to inspire a new generation of students when the first bell rings at Rancho Sienna Elementary School in August. From a library that’s envisioned as an innovative learning center, to collaborative learning spaces between classrooms, we’ll explore many of these exciting features in a future blog.
