What’s new near Rancho Sienna
Shade Tree Wine Bistro – Planned to open in May, this wine bar will offer more than 70 wines, along with craft beers and bistro cuisine. The unique setting features a majestic pecan tree growing through the corner of the dining room. The tree also shades the cozy outdoor wine garden. Regular events will include live music, a progressive wine education program, viewing parties for events like the Super Bowl and New Year’s Eve, and Trivia Night. They will also offer champagne brunches. The location at 103 N. Austin Ave. is just across the South San Gabriel River from historic downtown Georgetown.
309 Coffee – Located at 309 S. Main St. in Georgetown, this coffee shop will offer espresso and espresso-based drinks, along with coffees from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia an Kenya. Coffee beans, pastries and other menu items will also be offered. Planned to open by summer, 309 Coffee is owned by three Georgetown area couples.
Randalls – Georgetown’s newest grocery store is a 57,655-square-foot Randalls located at 5721 Williams Drive. It includes a deli, produce, floral, meat and dairy departments, along with a pharmacy and a Starbucks. A fuel service station is also planned. Randalls is the anchor tenant in the new Oak Meadows Marketplace retail center, with additional tenants coming soon.
St. David’s Healthcare – This isn’t a new opening, but a major award for one of the largest healthcare providers near Rancho Sienna. Both St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital were ranked among the top hospitals in the nation by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating System. Both St. David’s facilities earned the highest possible five-star rating.
St. David’s Emergency Center – In Leander, St. David’s recently opened a freestanding emergency center, the first part of a future full-service hospital campus planned at Toll 183A and San Gabriel Parkway.
Austin Community College – ACC plans to open its Leander campus for the fall 2018 semester. Catering to general studies, the campus will include a 175-seat ACCelerator lab, a library, an outdoor rooftop terrace and community space. The campus will offer a variety of traditional and hybrid classrooms, along with chemistry and biology labs.
Code Ninjas – Planned to open in Cedar Park in March, Code Ninjas will teach kids 7-14 how to build video games using math, problem solving and coding skills. The engaging game-based curriculum also teaches teamwork and logic. The location is 3621 E. Whitestone Blvd., Suite 500.
Boomtown Escape Games – This fun business will invite teams to gather clues to escape puzzle rooms based on 17th and 18th century saloons and schoolhouses within a set amount of time. Located at 215 W. Eighth Street in Georgetown, it will include a lounge area that can be rented for private events. The opening is planned for April.
