Friends of Rancho Sienna: Meet the Rodine family

Meet C.J. and Emily Rodine, who discovered Rancho Sienna after Emily’s sister moved here in 2017. Their affection for their new community is rooted in fun events, friendly neighbors and Hill Country beauty. In this interview, Emily answers our questions.

Q. Where are you from originally?

A.  I grew up in Bastrop, and C.J. grew up in Kingwood, in the Houston area.

Q. How did you come to live at Rancho Sienna?

A.  After living in downtown Austin and South Austin, we wanted to find somewhere that had a keen focus on family and community. My sister had moved to Rancho Sienna in 2017, and we loved the overall look and feel of the community.

Q. What are your favorite things about Rancho Sienna?

A.  We enjoy the events and activities that Rancho Sienna hosts for residents, and the camaraderie we have already developed with our neighbors because of those activities.

Q. Tell us about your family.

A. My husband is a car guy, and our son is going down the same path at the early age of 2. I enjoy supporting charities in the Austin area when I’m not working. We both like traveling a few times a year to experience new places and cultures.

Q. What would you tell someone considering a move to Rancho Sienna?

A.  For us, it’s the best place to be removed from the inner city, to be in a beautiful Hill Country setting that’s still central to everything in Austin, while also feeling included in a large community.

Q.  What’s your favorite local place to go out on a date?

A.  Our favorite place to go as a family is Mandola’s Italian Kitchen, to sip on wine while our son plays on the playscape off the patio.

Q. Can you share something that few people know about you?

A. I have a great appreciation for the orchestra, piano and jazzy music.
