Austin is America’s No. 2 Most Pet-Friendly City – and we love pets too
Austin just made another national “best of” list, and this one’s for the dogs.
Austin is America’s No. 2 Most Pet-Friendly City in a WalletHub study analyzing 25 key metrics such as walkability, the number of dog parks and the strength of animal protection laws.
Among the 100 largest U.S. cities analyzed, Austin ranks No. 2 overall, and also comes in second for Pet Health & Wellness. Austin tied for first place for having the Most Dog-Friendly Restaurants per Capita. Austin’s status as the nation’s largest No-Kill city for shelter animals boosted its score.
If there was a study comparing Austin communities for their pet-friendly appeal, Rancho Sienna would surely rank high. We love our four-legged residents so much, we created a special amenity just for them, the popular Bark’N Park.
Featuring agility mounds, obstacle courses, pond, and fenced play areas for large and small breeds, Rancho Sienna’s dog park is canine heaven. With stones, timbers and other materials used in the park repurposed from the building site, the Bark’N Park is part of Rancho Sienna’s commitment to sustainability.
The park also includes a dog wash station, a shade pavilion, and a pond for catch-and-release fishing.
The Bark’N Park is located along Big View Trail, one of three distinct loops in our approximately six-mile trail system.
In all, Rancho Sienna has more than 100 acres of parks, trails and natural open space. While the Bark’N Park offers off-leash fun, leashed dogs are welcome at all Rancho Sienna amenities, including our newest, Wilderness Park.
Rancho Sienna’s location is close to many dog-friendly businesses, from bars and pet resorts, to bark parks and supply stores. Our blog lists 10 fun things to do with your dog in Georgetown, Cedar Park and other places nearby. (Due to the pandemic, we recommend checking hours and other possible changes to these businesses before heading out.)
