Meet Rancho Sienna’s new Lifestyle Coordinator, Jenny Hernandez
Jenny Hernandez joined Rancho Sienna earlier this Spring as its new Lifestyle Coordinator, and residents will be seeing her friendly face at community events including a Summer Kick-Off, Movies on the Lawn and Summer Concert Series, Harvest Fest, Winter Wonderland, and more.
For Jenny, this new role is a return to two things she loves: event planning and living in Austin.
Jenny started in hospitality at the Marriott Horseshoe Bay Resort and then transferred to the Renaissance Austin and Sheraton Suites in Houston, planning everything from large-scale corporate events to elaborate weddings. She stayed in hospitality until January 2013, when she and her husband, Jordan, welcomed their first child, Jocelyn.
She felt God’s calling after her daughter’s birth to transition from event planning and focus on helping other families before, during, and after the birth of their children, and soon became a professional doula (labor coach), launching a solo practice which grew into an agency after years of sustained success. During this same time, the family moved to Destin, Fla. to be closer to family. While there, their son Joshua was born in 2015.
During those nearly eight years in Florida, Jordan and Jenny always desired to get back to Austin, and in the summer of 2020, the opportunity opened up to make the move. Jordan got on board with Goodwin & Co., which manages a master-planned communities including Rancho Sienna, which led to Jenny finding a new role here at Rancho Sienna.
They built a home in a nearby community in Leander to put down roots, and with the warm welcome she’s already had here, Jenny feels like she’s already part of the Rancho Sienna family.
“This area has grown so much in the short time we were in Florida,” she says. “Rancho Sienna is such a thriving, diverse community with a friendly atmosphere and I feel incredibly honored to be a part of it.”
Working closely with Rancho Sienna’s resident lifestyle committee, Jenny has already planned out a robust series of events for the remainder of the year, making sure to offer something for many different ages and interests.
“I believe we all have a deep-rooted desire for fellowship and connection, and fun activities are a great way to build bonds and make memories.” My role is to bring families, friends and neighbors together to allow them the opportunity to nurture those relationships while having fun along the way” she says.
